The Little Zine Library was born out of an artist residency with Burlington City and Lake Semester in Spring 2023.

I worked with Burlington High School juniors and seniors to create zines about bright spots in our community.

As we practiced analog methods of telling stories and making media, we wondered: how can we share stories and media outside of online platforms owned by massive corporations and mediated by their algorithms? How can we connect with our neighbors directly?

Carpenter and artist Derek Proulx built the Little Zine Library out of scrap wood in my garage. I installed it in my front yard. The students stocked it with their zines, and ever since, the Little Zine Library has been a place for neighbors and artists to find and share zines and art.

You can visit (and leave your zines in) the Little Zine Library at 108 Park St., Burlington, VT 05401:
